Civilisation for the common man

So you think that this is civilisation,
Asymmetric-wealth and pauperisation
The amoral descent to rank inequality
The poor disowned amid banking folly?
Is it right that vast wealth can flourish
While poverty blights lives of courage,
And while virulent wealth opens doors
Poverty knocks, and the world ignores?
Playing their game, within societal rules,
Hegemony casts down its toy for fools
The bittersweet freedom to be yourself
Within abject poverty or obscene wealth.
