Daytime TV

Jeremy likes his scum: it makes for wild TV
Berating people’s failings with blue, unseemly glee.
Dog the Bounty Hunter preaches God unto his foes
While we consume his fury: where’s God now do you suppose?

The millionaire in secret, peddles tea and sympathy
Learns the lot of lower lives then retreats to reality
Police patrol with their cameras cheapening judicature
Turning token criminality into their slick and sick brochure.

The news with breaking stories, about a family of geese
That’s twenty-four hour news for you: the banality disease.
Many, many, many more pouring out, their piss poor fare
From first to last, this shit is fast. I think we’ll leave it there.
