Migration Games

Like casualties of
An undeclared war,
The flotsam of an accidental journey.
The roll of the dice,
The grace of the seas,
And the faith of what will be, will be.
The traffickers rise
On the frail despair
Of the lost, the dead and the damned.
What of the world
While the makers make
Their dreams of a faux promised land?
Politicians posture
And the dice rattles on.
The pawns play their part in the game.
They just don’t care
For the lost or the saved,
Just deflecting their share of the blame.
